Michelin's Cataroux site came into existence at the start of the 1920s when the first workshops and test tracks were built.
It underwent various transformations throughout the 20th century with successive phases of expansion, modernization and rebuilding — in particular after it was bombed in 1944 — and has always kept pace with the Group's industrial evolution. Over time, Cataroux became home to a variety of different manufacturing activities: research into polymers, the production of metal reinforcements and the manufacture of finished and semi-finished products for Michelin Motorsport - all deeply influenced by Michelin's historic industrial expertise. This diversity testifies to the culture of agility and permanent innovation which is deeply embedded in Cataroux's DNA.
